Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about our Spark Plug-&-Play Training Lessons? Check this out!

What is Spark, and how is it used in peer mentoring?

Spark is a plug-and-play video lesson series designed to train and guide student mentors as they lead structured mentoring sessions with their peers.

Each video models the experience, walks mentors through facilitation, and supports meaningful small-group conversations, so students can confidently lead without needing to create content from scratch.

Is Spark only for mentoring programs?

Not at all. While Spark is built to support peer mentoring, it’s also widely used in advisory, enrichment blocks, leadership classes, and even staff or adult learning settings.

The lessons are flexible and designed to fit seamlessly into what schools are already doing.

Who leads Spark sessions?

Spark is designed to be student-led. The videos guide mentors step-by-step so they can facilitate conversations and activities with confidence.

We also offer versions that educators can lead, using the same engaging, easy-to-follow format; so whether student-led or adult-supported, the experience remains consistent and impactful.

What prep is involved?

None. For STAFF! Spark is truly plug-and-play.

Lesson plans and materials are provided and easy to access if you want to go deeper.

Mentors use the lessons as their training tool. They experience the lesson with their team, review the lesson plan, and customize the introduction and discussion to fit the needs of their group.

What grade levels is Spark designed for?

Spark is designed for all learners from elementary through high school, with additional content for adult training and staff development.

Each lesson is developmentally aligned, so students at every level can engage meaningfully.
